Welcome to the Overreach app! We're here to help you track your weight training and optimize your fitness journey. Here's a quick guide on how to get started with tracking your training sessions.
Selecting an Exercise
- **Choose an Exercise:** Once you click "Track a workout", begin by selecting an exercise from our extensive list. Whether you're doing squats, deadlifts, or bench presses, we've got you covered.
- **Record the Details:** For each exercise, you can record the following:
- **Weights:** Enter the weight you lifted for each set.
- **Sets:** Record the number of sets you performed.
- **Reps:** Note the number of repetitions for each set.
- **RPE (Rate of Perceived Exertion):** Track how challenging each set was on a scale of 1 to 10. This helps you monitor your effort and fatigue levels.
Benefits of Tracking Your Weight Training
- **Monitor Progress:** By consistently recording your workouts, you can track your strength gains and endurance over time. This data is invaluable for setting and achieving your fitness goals.
- **Identify Trends:** Tracking helps you identify patterns in your performance. Are you stronger on certain days? Does your RPE change with different exercises? Analyzing these trends can help you fine-tune your training plan.
- **Stay Motivated:** Seeing your progress in black and white is a powerful motivator. It reminds you of how far you've come and encourages you to keep pushing.
- **Optimize Workouts:** With detailed records, you can tailor your workouts to maximize efficiency. Knowing which exercises yield the best results for you means you can focus on what works.
- **Prevent Injury:** By tracking RPE and other metrics, you can avoid overtraining and manage your workload to prevent injuries. It allows you to listen to your body and adjust your training intensity accordingly.
